Offshore Accumulating Power Stations (OAPS) Combined with a Wind Turbine
This option involves combining a wind turbine and an energy storage station on a single foundation consisting of three supports fixed to the seabed or a combined foundation. Using a mechanical transmission inside the wind turbine nacelle, the rotation of the blades can be transferred to the wind turbine generator or to the immersion of float-balls for energy storage. During periods of no wind, the energy stored by the float-balls can be transferred to the wind turbine generator.
